Categories of cookies

• Strictly necessary. Required for sign-in, session security, and core site functionality. These cannot be disabled because the site would not work without them. Currently active.
• Preferences. Remember choices like your cookie consent setting and display preferences. Currently active.
• Analytics. Would help us understand aggregate usage patterns so we can improve the tools. Not yet active — no analytics cookies are currently set.
• Advertising. Would be set by a third-party advertising partner to serve and measure ads on the free tier. Not yet active — no advertising cookies are currently set.

Possible third-party advertising

We may, in the future, use a third-party advertising partner (such as Google AdSense) to display ads to visitors on our free tier, which would let that partner set cookies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This is not active today — no advertising script runs on ToolKit House and no advertising cookies are set. We will update this policy and the cookie banner before turning any advertising on.

Once advertising is active, you will be able to opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Managing your preferences

The cookie banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Right now that choice has no effect on tracking, since no analytics or advertising cookies are set — it simply records your preference for when those categories are introduced. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for ToolKit House and revisiting the site, which will show the banner again. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their settings — note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and other core features from working.

Changes to this policy
